Here at Tampines Rovers, we always have one eye on the future. A key to that brilliant future materializing is a burgeoning interest in football from our youth.
With this, we are excited to announce a partnership with Tampines-based Pasir Ris Secondary School, which we finalised at a visit to the school with our First Team players.
As a start to the collaboration, our first team trained on the Pasir Ris Secondary School field on that day, which provided the students an opportunity for an intimate peek into the proceedings by watching the training session.
Students were also invited onto the field to meet the players, where they were able to ask our Stags for tips and tricks to be able to thrive in the professional football scene.
The alma mater of both Our Head Coach Gavin Lee, as well as Our Club Captain Yasir Hanapi, the partnership further solidifies our roots in the area, and will see both the school and the club work hand-in-hand to raise the standards of youth football in Tampines.
General Manager William Phang expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “We can’t wait to allow the students of Pasir Ris Secondary School a closer look into how it’s like to be a footballer in Singapore, which we hope will inspire the next generation of footballers for the country.”
As a club that has historically believed in nurturing youth players to become icons of the game, we are excited to unearth more uncut gems and help refine them into polished diamonds, while also igniting the passions of our future Singapore football fans.
We are excited to be able to see the students of Pasir Ris Secondary School again soon, as they will next come down to experience a Singapore Premier League game live at Our Tampines Hub. See you all again soon!
